For the last three years, I've been proud to serve as your Town Meeting Member, representing our beautiful corner of Belmont.
We need to maintain strong schools and services, keep Belmont affordable, and do it all with a government that respects and accepts your input.
I'm asking for your vote to continue working on new programs and reforms to achieve that vision. From unifying the town finance team to streamlining key permits, we've made progress that will yield small but meaningful benefits in the years to come. I'm committed to building on this work over the next three years, but I can only do it with your support!
Streamline Permitting for new businesses and home renovations to maximize new growth revenues and reduce staff time burdens.
Shift Tax Burdens towards those most able to pay, through tax relief programs and changes to properties & assessments.
Fast-Track Reforms to increase the efficiency of government services, reducing costs and improving quality.
Improve Competition in the Housing & Commercial real estate markets.
In 2023, Angus filed an article to finally address a thirteen year old recommendation to unify the Town's Finance Team and bring accountability and oversight to the Board of Assessors.
Through his advocacy, this measure passed town meeting and at the ballot box. With fresh leadership, the Board of Assessors identified $600,000 that could be returned to the town to support key conservation and recreation projects.
Angus was appointed to the Belmont Conservation Commission in July of 2024. He is working to support permanently protecting Rock Meadow, advocating for clearer permitting standards, and protecting accessibility in conservation lands.
